Stocks could see an increase after earnings reports next week

Welcome to Extreme Investor Network, where we provide unique insights and valuable information to help you navigate the world of investing. Today, we are diving into the upcoming first-quarter earnings season and what it means for the stock market.

With inflation on the rise and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s rate-cutting path, first-quarter earnings are becoming increasingly important indicators of the stock market’s health. After a strong first quarter, stocks have faced a rocky start to the second quarter, with all major U.S. stock indexes trading in the red this month.

As investors await the latest earnings reports, it’s crucial to focus on companies with a strong track record of beating analyst estimates and seeing their shares rally in response. According to Bespoke Investment Group data, some stocks set to release their quarterly results next week meet these criteria.

One standout company is Intuitive Surgical, a medical device company with an average earnings per share beat rate of 87% and an average one-day move of 2.43% after reporting earnings. Citigroup recently raised its price target on Intuitive, citing the FDA approval of the company’s Da Vinci 5 robotic surgery system as a driving factor for future growth.

Another company to watch is D.R. Horton, a home construction company with a 76% earnings beat rate and an average post-earnings gain of 1.5%. Despite recent downgrades due to weaker demand in the housing market, D.R. Horton remains a key player to watch during earnings season.

Toolmaker Snap-on also stands out with a high earnings beat rate of 90%, although analysts have a consensus hold rating on the stock. Other companies like Blackstone, Citizens Financial, and ManpowerGroup could also see positive momentum following their earnings reports next week.
