Target is set to double its bonus payments to salaried employees this year as the retail giant’s profits bounce back from a challenging two-year period. This increase in bonuses comes as a reward for the hard work and dedication of Target’s employees.

Salaried employees at Target’s headquarters in Minneapolis receive an annual bonus based on the company’s performance and predetermined criteria. This year, Target will pay 100% of employees’ eligible bonus amounts, up from 50% in the previous year. The bonus payout is determined by the company’s performance against sales and profit goals set at the beginning of the fiscal year.

In a statement, Target expressed its appreciation for the $2 billion in additional profit growth achieved in 2023, surpassing the initial goals set for the year. The retailer is committed to rewarding its employees for their contributions to the company’s success.

While the majority of Target’s employees are hourly workers and not eligible for bonuses, store and supply chain leaders, as well as corporate employees, will receive the increased bonus payments. Target’s executives have a separate bonus structure in place.

Despite facing challenges such as inventory issues, supply chain costs, and declining sales, Target has successfully navigated through these obstacles and improved its profit margins. The company expects comparable sales to remain flat to up 2% in 2024 and adjusted earnings per share to range from $8.60 to $9.60.
