Foxconn Partners with NVIDIA to Develop Taiwan's Fastest AI Supercomputer

NVIDIA and Foxconn have joined forces to create Taiwan’s largest and fastest AI supercomputer, the Hon Hai Kaohsiung Super Computing Center. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the region’s AI capabilities, with the project set to leverage NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Blackwell architecture.

NVIDIA’s Blackwell Architecture Driving Innovation

At the core of the supercomputer lies NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, specifically the GB200 NVL72 platform. With 64 racks and 4,608 Tensor Core GPUs, the supercomputer is expected to deliver over 90 exaflops of AI performance, positioning it as the fastest in Taiwan.

Empowering AI-Driven Industries

Foxconn plans to utilize the supercomputer for advancements in cancer research, language model development, and smart city initiatives. This move reinforces Taiwan’s global leadership in AI-driven industries, aligning with Foxconn’s strategic focus on smart manufacturing, smart cities, and electric vehicles.

Timeline and Integration of Technological Solutions

The construction of the Hon Hai Kaohsiung Super Computing Center has already begun in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The first phase is expected to be operational by mid-2025, with full deployment targeted for 2026. NVIDIA’s Omniverse and Isaac robotics platforms will be integrated to enhance manufacturing processes through AI and digital twins.

Technical Specifications and Capabilities

The GB200 NVL72 platform is engineered for AI and accelerated computing, featuring 36 NVIDIA Grace CPUs and 72 Blackwell GPUs in each rack. Connected via NVLink technology, the system boasts a bandwidth of 130TB/s, enabling seamless training of large AI models and real-time execution of complex inference tasks.
