Let’s start with the Asian markets, where we saw a mixed day with the NIKKEI 225 and ASX 200 increasing, while the Shanghai and SENSEX decreased. The major currencies were also mixed, with AUDUSD and NZDUSD on the rise, while USDJPY and USDCNY dropped.
Moving on to Europe/EMEA, we saw a positive day for the major stock markets, with CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all showing gains. The currency markets had a mixed day, with EURUSD and GBPUSD on the rise, while USDCHF declined.
In the US/Americas, the market closings were in the green, with the Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 all advancing. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 also saw gains, while the Bovespa in Brazil declined.
As for energy markets, we observed a mix of movements with Crude Oil and Brent increasing, while Natural gas, Gasoline, and Heating oil saw fluctuations. In commodities, top gainers included Silver, Nickel, Palladium, and Cocoa, while top losers were Oat, Sugar, Steel, and Cheese.
Lastly, we looked at bond yields, with Japan and US 2’s seeing slight drops, while US 10’s and US 30’s decreased significantly. Bunds, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and UK Gilts also experienced shifts in yield rates.
