Title: Starbucks Taps Chipotle Alum Tressie Lieberman as Global Chief Brand Officer
At Extreme Investor Network, we are excited to share the latest executive change at Starbucks. The coffee chain has appointed Tressie Lieberman, a former Chipotle executive, as its new global chief brand officer. This newly created position comes as part of CEO Brian Niccol’s efforts to revitalize the company’s brand and attract more customers.
Niccol, who previously led Chipotle, has outlined a plan to improve Starbucks’ slumping sales in the U.S. One of his top priorities is to enhance the chain’s branding and remind customers of its coffee expertise and unique coffee-shop experience. Lieberman’s proven track record in building strong brands and creating compelling customer experiences makes her the perfect fit for this role.
Lieberman will officially join Starbucks on Nov 4. and report directly to Niccol. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having previously served as the chief marketing officer for Yahoo and vice president of digital marketing and off-premise at Chipotle. Her background in developing breakthrough marketing strategies will be instrumental in helping Starbucks reconnect with its audience.
In addition to Lieberman’s appointment, Starbucks has also announced changes within its leadership team. Dawn Clark, the company’s executive creative director, and Angele Robinson-Gaylord, who leads store development, will now report to Sara Trilling, Starbucks’ president of North America. The company is also streamlining its global communications and corporate affairs departments into a single team.
With Starbucks facing challenges in its China business, Niccol is expected to unveil more details of his turnaround plans during the company’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call on Oct. 30. Stay tuned to Extreme Investor Network for the latest updates on Starbucks’ growth strategy and executive changes.
