Published: June 13, 2025
In an exciting leap towards innovation, NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom have forged a strategic partnership to establish Germany’s first industrial AI cloud. This ambitious initiative, set to revolutionize European manufacturing, is a vital step in enhancing sovereign AI infrastructure across the continent.
Pioneering Europe’s First Industrial AI Cloud
Under this collaboration, a cutting-edge AI factory will be constructed in Germany, operating under Deutsche Telekom’s oversight. This facility aims to deliver state-of-the-art AI solutions tailored for European industrial leaders, catalyzing the integration of AI-driven technologies in design, engineering, simulation, digital twins, and robotics. NVIDIA’s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, recognizes the urgency of merging traditional manufacturing with innovative AI capabilities, stating, "By building Europe’s first industrial AI infrastructure, we’re enabling the region’s leading industrial companies to advance simulation-first, AI-driven manufacturing."
A Game Changer for Germany’s AI Landscape
This initiative signifies Germany’s largest AI deployment to date, incorporating 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, including NVIDIA DGX GB200 systems and NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers. A recent Deloitte study predicts that demand for data center capacity in Germany will triple in the next five years, making this infrastructure pivotal for maintaining the country’s competitive edge within the global market.
Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG, emphasized the necessity of rapid AI adoption, stating, "Europe’s technological future needs a sprint, not a stroll. We must seize the opportunities of artificial intelligence now."
NEURA Robotics: Innovating Physical AI
In a noteworthy aspect of this partnership, NEURA Robotics, a front-runner in physical AI and cognitive robotics, will leverage the new computing resources to boost its training centers for cognitive robots. This initiative is geared towards the development of the Neuraverse—a revolutionary networked ecosystem that will allow robots to learn in various industrial and domestic settings. Think of it as an app store for robotic intelligence, fostering synergy across applications.
David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, aptly characterized the potential of physical AI, claiming, "It is the electricity of the future — it will power every machine on the planet."
Empowering Germany’s Industrial Ecosystem
The AI factory, under Deutsche Telekom’s stewardship, will provide AI cloud computing resources for a diverse spectrum of European industrial participants—ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to prominent academic institutions. The facility will leverage advanced technologies like NVIDIA’s CUDA-X and Omniverse, among others, from leading software providers, ensuring a comprehensive ecosystem for innovation.
Laying the Foundation for AI Gigafactories
This industrial AI cloud serves as a precursor to the ambitious AI gigafactory initiative, which is poised to be powered by 100,000 GPUs and backed by the European Union. Launching in 2027, this initiative aims to create advanced AI infrastructure that grants enterprises, startups, and academic institutions enhanced access to accelerated computing capabilities.
To date, approximately 900 German startups are part of the NVIDIA Inception program, making them eligible to harness these groundbreaking AI resources. Furthermore, NVIDIA is committed to fostering AI education and certification globally through its Deep Learning Institute, highlighting the broader commitment to advancing AI literacy.
