In terms of precious metals, gold and silver both saw decreases in USD/t oz. The European markets also saw a downtrend, with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all experiencing declines. The European currency markets also had a mixed day, with changes in EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCHF.
Moving on to the US and Americas, we saw the Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 all close with mixed results. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 saw modest advances, while the Bovespa in Brazil also saw some gains.
In the energy sector, the oil markets had a mixed day with fluctuations in prices for crude oil, Brent, natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Top commodity gainers included natural gas, palm oil, orange juice, and coffee, while wheat, oat, corn, and platinum saw losses.
Lastly, in the bonds market, we saw changes in yields for Japan, US 2’s, US 10’s, US 30’s, Bunds, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and UK Gilts.
