Market Update – July 23, 2024

Welcome to Extreme Investor Network, where we provide you with the latest updates on the global financial markets. Today, we will take a closer look at the performance of various markets around the world.

Let’s start with Asia. The major stock markets in Asia had a mixed day today. The NIKKEI 225 and Shanghai both saw a decrease, while the ASX 200 and KOSPI experienced gains. The currency markets in Asia were negative, with the AUDUSD, NZDUSD, USDJPY, and USDCNY all seeing a decline.

Moving on to Europe, we saw a mixed day in the stock markets. The CAC 40 and FTSE 100 decreased, while the DAX 30 increased. In the currency markets, the EURUSD and GBPUSD decreased, while the USDCHF saw an increase.

In the US, the Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq all declined, while the Russell 2000 advanced. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 both declined, while the Bovespa in Brazil also saw a decrease.

In the energy markets, oil prices were down, with both Crude Oil and Brent seeing a decrease. Top commodity gainers included Palladium and Lean Hogs, while the top losers were Cotton and Corn.

Lastly, in the bond markets, we saw different movements in yields for various countries. Japan saw a slight decrease, while US bonds had mixed movements.
