Southwest Airlines recently reported a 46% drop in second-quarter profit, leading to a 4% decrease in their shares during premarket trading. The airline is facing challenges such as a potential unit revenue decline of up to 2% in Q3, an expected rise in non-fuel costs by as much as 13%, and reduced aircraft deliveries from Boeing. However, Southwest managed to beat earnings expectations with an adjusted EPS of $0.58, surpassing the anticipated $0.51.
