Market Discussion – June 11, 2024

Welcome to Extreme Investor Network, where we bring you the latest updates and analysis on the global financial markets.

Let’s start with a recap of how the Asian markets performed today. The NIKKEI 225 in Japan saw a 0.25% increase, while the Shanghai index decreased by 0.76%. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong and the ASX 200 in Australia both saw declines, while the KOSPI in South Korea and SENSEX in India had a mixed day. In terms of currency markets, the AUDUSD and USDCNY saw decreases, while the NZDUSD and USDJPY experienced gains.

Moving on to Europe and the EMEA region, major stock markets like CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all closed lower today. The EURUSD and USDCHF had mixed results in currency trading.

In the US and the Americas, the Dow and Russell 2000 indices closed lower, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq saw gains. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 both closed down, while the Bovespa index in Brazil advanced.

In the energy markets, oil prices had a mixed day with both Crude Oil and Brent seeing increases, while Natural gas also went up.

When it comes to commodities, Natural Gas, Wheat, and Cocoa were among the top gainers, while Lumber, Rubber, and Orange Juice were in the red.

Lastly, in the bond markets, we saw changes in yields for various countries around the world, including Japan, the US, Germany, and more.
