Let’s start with Asia, where the major stock markets had a mixed day. The Nikkei 225 and ASX 200 decreased, while the Hang Seng saw an increase. In terms of currency markets, the AUDUSD and NZDUSD decreased, while the USDJPY and USDCNY showed mixed results.
Moving on to Europe/EMEA, the major stock markets had a green day with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all showing positive gains. In currency markets, the EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCHF had a positive day.
In the US/Americas, the Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 all experienced gains. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 also saw positive movements. Meanwhile, the Bovespa in Brazil advanced slightly.
Looking at the energy markets, we observed a mix of movements. Crude oil and Brent decreased, while natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil showed gains. Top commodity gainers included natural gas, cocoa, canola, and oat, while lead, aluminum, platinum, and sugar were among the top commodity losers.
Finally, in the bonds market, we saw movement in various government bond yields, including those of Japan, the US, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and the UK.
