In their letter, Heartland provided this astute evaluation:

"Industrials. This was a challenging quarter for J.B. Hunt Transportation Services, Inc. (JBHT), a diversified transportation company with a focus on intermodal shipping. Customers hire Hunt to move freight more efficiently than alternatives. The company boasts the largest fleet of 53-foot shipping containers, allowing for the consolidation of three ocean-freight containers into two Hunt containers. These are transported by rail and then via Hunt’s trucks. Rail remains the most efficient method of freight transport, and Hunt plays a pivotal role in converting semi-trailer miles to rail."
