Pectra Devnet 4 & Mekong Updates
Parithosh Jayanthi from the Ethereum Foundation shared exciting news about the Pectra and Mekong testnets. The official blog post for the Mekong testnet is now live, encouraging developers to explore the EIPs in Pectra. Despite initial plans to deprecate Pectra Devnet 4, it will remain operational during the upcoming Devcon conference, allowing developers to continue their experiments.
Pectra Devnet 5 Preparations
As preparations for Pectra Devnet 5 are underway, changes to EIP 7702 have been confirmed without objections. Discussions on refining the fee logic of EIP 7002 are ongoing, with developers urged to address any concerns before the next meeting.
Individual EIP Activations

eth/70, Sharded Blocks Protocol
Giulio Rebuffo introduced a new EIP aimed at extending Ethereum’s wire protocol to tackle history growth challenges. Concerns were raised about the readiness of the Portal Network for data pruning, sparking discussions on client-specific solutions.
EIP 7610 Potential Removal
Discussions around the implementation of EIP 7610 led to considerations about its potential removal. Developers agreed to engage with the authors of the EIP to explore alternative solutions.
ACD Call Schedule
Due to the upcoming Devcon conference, the next week’s ACDC call is canceled. The conference will feature breakout sessions on Ethereum’s development, providing a platform for in-depth discussions. Regular calls will resume on November 21.
