Cadence Design Systems, a leader in electronic design, saw a 5% jump in its stock after surpassing Wall Street expectations with its third-quarter earnings. With earnings of $1.64 per share and $1.22 billion in revenue, Cadence Design exceeded analyst forecasts and raised its outlook for 2024.

VF Corporation, the parent company of popular brands like The North Face and JanSport, surged 17% following better-than-expected earnings for the fiscal second quarter. With adjusted earnings of 60 cents per share and revenue of $2.76 billion, VF Corporation outperformed analyst predictions and also announced a quarterly dividend of 9 cents per share.

On the flip side, automaker Ford slipped about 5% despite exceeding analyst expectations for its third-quarter results. The focus shifted to full-year guidance, which came in at the low end of the previously set range.

F5, a cloud services company, witnessed a 10% jump in its stock after posting stronger-than-expected earnings in the fourth fiscal quarter. With $3.67 in adjusted earnings per share and $747 million in revenue, F5 outperformed analyst forecasts and exceeded revenue expectations.

Trex, a maker of composite deck materials, advanced 6% after surpassing Wall Street consensus forecasts with its earnings. Reporting adjusted earnings of 37 cents per share in the third quarter and revenue of $233.7 million, Trex outperformed analyst expectations.

Finally, Boot Barn, a western-wear retailer, tumbled 8% despite meeting earnings expectations for the fiscal second quarter. Revenue exceeded consensus forecasts, but the announcement of CEO Jim Conroy stepping down had an impact on the stock.
