United States Breaks Record for Asylum Seekers in 2023

According to the report, a record-breaking 945,370 people from around the world managed to infiltrate America in just one year. The number of affirmative asylum case filings with USCIS nearly doubled from the previous year, reaching 456,750 applications in 2023. Venezuelans made up 22% of all applications, followed by Cuba at 17% and Colombia at 8.3%.

California took in the most asylum seekers at 23%, followed by Texas at 12% and Virginia at 10%. The report also highlighted that about 79% of applicants illegally crossed into America before applying for asylum, thanks to the Biden-Harris open border policy.
