In addition to the spacewalk, the Polaris Dawn mission reached an orbit of more than 1,400 kilometers from Earth, the furthest humans have traveled in space since the Apollo program. The crew is also conducting approximately 40 science and research experiments onboard the spacecraft as part of this pioneering journey.
Jared Isaacman, the commander of Polaris Dawn and the benefactor behind the mission, is no stranger to space travel, having led the Inspiration4 mission in 2021.
