Chancellor McCormick expressed confidence in Tesla’s commitment to abide by her ruling, stating, “If I have interpreted the defendants’ position incorrectly, then defense counsel – as officers of the court – are duty-bound to correct it. In the meantime, the defendants’ statements give me great comfort.”
Looking ahead, Tesla shareholders are set to vote on June 13 to determine the fate of Musk’s pay package and the company’s reincorporation in Texas. Additionally, Chancellor McCormick must decide on the shareholder’s request for a $6 billion legal fee from Tesla before Musk and the company can appeal.
