Market Update – June 25, 2024

The major Asian stock markets saw a mixed day of trading, with the Nikkei 225 and ASX 200 posting gains while the Shanghai and Hang Seng indices experienced minor losses. In the currency markets, the AUDUSD and NZDUSD pairs declined, while the USDJPY and USDCNY saw slight fluctuations.

Gold and silver prices dipped slightly during the day, with gold falling by 0.46% and silver by 2.16%.


European stock markets closed in the red, with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all posting losses. The EURUSD pair also saw a decrease, while the GBPUSD remained relatively stable.


In the US, the Dow and Russell 2000 indices declined, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq advanced. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 both saw declines, while Brazil’s Bovespa index also ended the day in negative territory.


The oil markets had a mixed day, with crude oil and Brent prices decreasing, while natural gas and gasoline prices saw minor fluctuations.

Top Commodity Gainers and Losers:

Orange Juice, Oats, Lead, and Zinc were among the top commodity gainers, while Coffee, Palladium, Cotton, and Wheat experienced losses.


Bond yields for different countries showed varied movements, with Japan, the US, and several European nations seeing changes in their rates.
