Several airlines halted flights on Friday due to an unprecedented IT outage that impacted global operations. Cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike experienced a major disruption linked to a tech update, causing chaos in various sectors. Microsoft was also affected, leading to system errors displayed on flight update screens at airports worldwide.

More than 30,000 flights were delayed globally, with U.S. flights accounting for a significant portion of those delays. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg reassured that the transportation delays would be mitigated by Saturday.
