Economic Update: June 28, 2024

The major Asian stock markets had a mixed day today, with the NIKKEI 225, Shanghai, Hang Seng, ASX 200, Kospi, SENSEX, and Nifty50 showing various movements. In the currency markets, AUDUSD, NZDUSD, USDJPY, and USDCNY also experienced fluctuations.

Precious Metals:

Gold and silver prices saw some movements as well, with gold increasing and silver showing a slight uptick.

In the US market closings, the Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 had mixed performances. Meanwhile, Canada’s TSX Composite and TSX 60 showed declines, and Brazil’s Bovespa also saw a decrease.


The major Europe stock markets also experienced a mixed day, with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 showing differing movements. In the currency markets, EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCHF saw fluctuations.


The oil markets had a negative day, with both crude oil and Brent showing decreases. Natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil also experienced declines. Top commodity gainers and losers were also highlighted.


We also looked at the latest bond data, including Japan, US, Bunds, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and UK Gilts.
