Biggest movers in after-hours trading: CHK, FFIV, LSCC

F5, a tech stock, surged an impressive 14% in after-hours trading after reporting a blowout quarterly report. The company exceeded expectations with adjusted earnings of $3.36 per share in the fiscal third quarter, beating an LSEG estimate of $2.97 per share. Additionally, F5’s revenue of $695 million also surpassed the expected $686 million.

On the flip side, Lattice Semiconductor saw shares tumble more than 10% in extended trading after reporting disappointing results. The chip name posted adjusted earnings of 23 cents per share, falling one cent below an LSEG estimate. Moreover, its revenue fell short of expectations, and the revenue guidance for the third quarter was weaker than analysts’ estimates.

Chesapeake Energy experienced a slight dip of less than 1% after reporting a revenue miss in the second quarter. The gas company posted revenue of $505 million, well below the LSEG estimate of $787 million.

In the retail sector, Sprouts Farmers Market shined with its stock popping more than 13% in extended trading following a strong earnings report. The supermarket chain reported earnings of 94 cents per share in the second quarter, surpassing an LSEG estimate by 16 cents. Additionally, Sprouts’ revenue of $1.89 billion exceeded the expected $1.84 billion.

However, not all companies fared well in after-hours trading. Hologic’s shares dropped 6% after the medical imaging company issued disappointing guidance for the fiscal fourth quarter. Hologic forecasted adjusted earnings ranging between 97 cents and $1.04 per share for the period on revenue of $970 million to $985 million, falling short of analysts’ expectations of $1.04 per share and $1 billion in revenue.
